Enabling people and organizations to become the best they can be

Our fundamental belief is that holistic well-being is the foundation for individuals, systems and the larger environment to flourish, evolve and co-exist meaningfully. Our role is to create spaces where people can come together to experiment, learn, grow and experience nourishment and well-being.

Organizations are organisms (living systems) unlike machines. They have a distinct identity like other living systems. Members of an organization are not merely mechanical parts (cogs) but dynamic beings that influence the living system and are influenced by it. Our work lies at this everchanging human-system interface. We work with a core belief that everyone can blossom to their full potential.

Totally Aligned Organization (TAO) was co-founded by Raghu Ananthanarayanan. At present, TAO is a network of experienced consultants from diverse backgrounds, driven by passion for meaningful change. We believe that lasting transformation begins with an inner shift in individuals. Over the past few decades, we’ve developed unique models and instruments grounded in ancient Indian wisdom to facilitate these inner shifts and aligned organizational transformation. In essence, we hold safe spaces in organizations for dialogue, enquiry and practice of contextually relevant concerns.

Our Approach

At TAO, we believe that true change begins from within. Our approach is designed to inspire self-authored, transformative, and sustainable change at an individual level. We focus on the foundational elements of mindset that shape behaviour. Through our interventions we support individuals, teams and organizations to build a coherent narrative of themselves, their roles and the context around.

A crucial aspect of our work lies in asking the fundamental questions. In critical situations, we encourage individuals to pause and reflect deeply by asking:

These questions give a glimpse into the nature of our leadership development work. Contextual leadership is a core tenet of it, and therefore we strongly value contextual sensitivity and understanding. In line with this, our consulting work begins with an in-depth enquiry into your organizational context and specific needs, using action research and mental mapping tools. Based on the needs and insights uncovered we co-create appropriate combination of systemic and cultural interventions. These may include workshops, coaching, group coaching, Kaizen projects, and dialogue spaces.

Our work is deeply rooted in Indian scriptures and traditions, particularly the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Mahabharata. The contemporary frames we bring to the personal and organizational transformation space are inspired from Sutras on Antaranga Yoga (Indian Psychology). Alongside promoting contextual intelligence, we integrate practice of emotional and embodied intelligence in our workshops. These include body-mind-breath practices such as asana-pranayama, as well as expressive arts like theatre, which support participants in accessing deeper layers of themselves. For a comprehensive understanding of our approach, our published works offer deeper insights into these frameworks and practices.

We work with most of our clients over a medium to long-term horizon, aiming to build internal capacity for sustained transformation.
