Earth Rising

This is a first-hand story related by a CEO of a prominent company. In a winery, after some growth, the roots need treatment. By this time, some branches, in the form of creepers, also take shape along the wires or rods. This treatment weakens the roots, and the workmen unwind some of the creepers, pulling them to the ground so they can become new roots. This was quite a chore, as the creepers are thick and well-entwined around the wires or rods, taking a lot of time. It was identified as a difficult task, and the workmen got together to improve the situation. After brainstorming, it emerged that the traditional method was to bring the creeper tip to the ground, where it would embed itself in the earth to form a root. Instead, they thought, why not build a mound of earth near the end of the creeper? A little bit of untwining would then suffice. This was tried out and proved to be very successful. This is a good example of a worker's thinking, leading to a no-cost solution.
